Hoshiarpur- In view of the recent heavy rains in the district and the threat of possible floods, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today inspected culverts and culverts located in various areas of Hoshiarpur along with administrative officials. During this, he took stock of the condition of natural waterways and identified the places where culverts have been damaged due to rain.
During the inspection, MLA Jimpa directed the concerned departments to immediately repair the damaged culverts and ensure permanent and emergency arrangements so that public life is not affected in future.
He informed that he has met the Cabinet Minister of the State Government Virendra Goyal regarding this issue and has requested him for a permanent solution by giving detailed information about the damage caused by rain and floods in Hoshiarpur.
The MLA informed that the concerned department is preparing a proposal in this regard and sending it to the department, so that the necessary budget and resources can be made available as soon as possible. He directed the officials to be prepared in advance to deal with any emergency and keep special vigil in sensitive areas.
MLA Jimpa said that the administrative system is fully alert and priority is being given to the safety and convenience of the public. He appealed to the local residents to contact the administration in case of any emergency and to avoid rumours.
