Sports Minister in action mode, show cause notices issued to 15 officials

Chandigarh, July 17 - Haryana Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam today conducted a surprise inspection of the Khelo India State Level Centre at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula and issued show cause notices to all the coaches, employees of the centre and the District Sports Officers of Panchkula for not providing accommodation, fixed food items and sports equipment to the players.

Chandigarh, July 17 - Haryana Minister of State for Sports Mr. Gaurav Gautam today conducted a surprise inspection of the Khelo India State Level Centre at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula and issued show cause notices to all the coaches, employees of the centre and the District Sports Officers of Panchkula for not providing accommodation, fixed food items and sports equipment to the players.
On this occasion, the Sports Minister met the boxing, badminton and athletics players practicing in the stadium and listened to their problems. On this occasion, the players informed the Minister that the officials are not able to make proper arrangements for food and sports equipment. The players said that the government's sports policy is very good, but according to it the officials are not providing them facilities. This is causing them inconvenience.
The Sports Minister called the officials on the spot and warned them to rectify the situation within 15 days. Otherwise, strict action will be taken against them. Sports Minister Mr. Gaurav Gautam said that Haryana's sports policy is the best in the entire country. The state's players are increasing the pride of the country and the state by winning medals in the Olympics, World Championship, Asian and Commonwealth Games. The government is committed to providing them with maximum sports facilities so that our players can win more medals.
If the players get good food and proper sports and resources, their performance will also be good. The Sports Minister told the coaches to improve their working style and make the players practice on time. The coaches who do a good job will be encouraged and action will be taken against those who are negligent.
On this occasion, the Sports Minister reached the stadium directly at around eight in the morning where he met all the players. He inspected the hostel accommodation, mess and gym etc.
