Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 9: Health awareness and check-up camps were organized in various government health institutions of the district today under the Pradhan Mantri Safe Motherhood Campaign. Giving information in this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Tamanna Singhal said that under this link, ANC examination and necessary medical tests were done on pregnant women and pregnant women were motivated to adopt a healthy lifestyle to ensure safe delivery.
Officials said that the Pradhan Mantri Safe Motherhood Campaign has played an important role in reducing the mortality rate of mothers and children. In all government institutions, on the 9th and 23rd of every month, special check-ups are conducted by expert doctors for safe delivery of high-risk pregnant women.
It is very important to conduct four ANC tests before delivery of pregnant women, so the health department is trying to strengthen this program. Vigilance is necessary from the pregnancy itself for safe delivery. Thousands of pregnant women have benefited from this program in the district so far. Refreshments are also distributed to pregnant women on this occasion.
The officials appealed to the needy to reach the government health institutions and take maximum advantage of the free facilities being provided by the health department. On this occasion, S. M. O. Dr. Parminderjit Singh and Nursing Officer Sukhwinder Kaur of the district hospital were also present.
