New Delhi, July 4 - "Don't see God in us". The Supreme Court made this remark on Friday after a lawyer said that he sees God in judges. Justices MM Sundaresh and K Vinod Chandran made this remark during the hearing of a temple case in Uttar Pradesh.
A lawyer appearing in the case sought his removal from the case, saying that his client was not listening to him. The lawyer further claimed that he had received a notice from his client alleging that "judges are being influenced through lawyers."
Terming it as ‘very insulting’, the lawyer expressed grief, “If we find that there is any dishonesty, we withdraw from the cases. We see God in our judges.” However, Justice Sundaresh immediately said, “Don’t see God in us. Please see God in justice.” The bench also accepted the request and discharged the lawyer from the case.
