Jalandhar- In the convention called today by Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee, a clear message was given that the immediate objective of the fascist campaign being run shamelessly by the BJP government against the tribals and communist revolutionaries (Maoists) is to fill the bellies of domestic and foreign corporate houses with forests, water, land and natural resources.
But the real objective is to suppress all kinds of rational, scientific, pro-people, democratic revolutionary voices in the entire country, which will definitely be crushed by the force of a huge united mass wave. This is the truth of the times to come.
Raising the topic 'Urgent need for people's struggle against the burden of imperialist crisis on countries like ours, corporate and communal fascist attacks', Dr. Parminder Singh, Darshan Khatkar and Mangat Ram Pasla said that from Palestine, Iran to Bastar, tribal areas, all the working people of our country including Punjab have a common theme that people are being attacked from all sides.
The speakers said that while people across the world need to come out in the field against the imperialist attack, we also need to jointly solve economic, social issues as well as democratic revolutionary political issues according to our base and scope while protecting the glorious legacy of Gadri Babas, Bhagat-Sarabha and Gadri Gulab Bibi Gulab Kaur.
All the three speakers jointly stressed that instead of following the path of erasing the signs of pro-people ideology by destroying martyr memorials and erasing the traces of atrocities happening in tribal areas, the BJP government must read the words of the world and our country's history which are written in the air that, 'You can kill a person, but not an idea.'
The speakers said that how long will the government's support to the murder gangs formed by slapping Salwa Judham on the face, picking up Maoists and tribals from their homes, killing them by surrounding them like Palestinians and fabricating the story of police encounter continue because the eyes of the earth are watching everything.
The earth will turn and the caravans of people who have been struggling for the liberation of the oppressed people for centuries will not remain silent, because 'every soil has its own nature, not every soil breaks with beating.' They said that the embrace of pen, art, knowledge, democracy and a large section of the working people will make the flowers of truth bloom.

The proposals presented in this meeting were passed by raising hands in the packed pandal. The proposals said that
1. The massacre of tribals in the name of 'development' should be stopped.
2. The killing of communist revolutionary (Maoist) workers in 'encounters' should be stopped.
3. The massacre, destruction and displacement in Bastar and other tribal areas under the name of Operation Khargar and other names should be stopped.
4. The open attacks being made to hand over the forest, water, land and natural wealth to domestic and foreign corporate houses should be stopped.
5. The basic political issues of the tribals should be resolved through the process of bilateral talks.
6. The creation of anti-national, anti-people and anti-nature corporate models should be stopped.
7. The democratic rights of struggle and expression of views should be restored.
8. The tribals, intellectuals and all prisoners in jails should be released unconditionally.
9. All social democratic activists in jail including Umar Khalid should be released unconditionally.
10. Laws that suppress rational and democratic scientific thought under the guise of religious sentiments should be repealed.
11. The attacks being carried out by the government to suppress the voice of the landless people in Punjab and to take away the lands of the farmers should be stopped.
12. The steps to make Punjab a police state to suppress the police repression on the people's struggles should be stopped.
13. The attacks by the police-goon-political coalition suppressing the Dalits in Punjab should be stopped.
14. The massacre and displacement of the Palestinian people should be stopped and the Israeli-American repression, interference and attacks on Iran should be stopped.
The conference also passed a resolution supporting the nationwide strike on 9 July.
