Chandigarh- Today on 14th June 2025, a delegation led by Shri Arun Sood, former Mayor, met His Excellency Governor Administrator Chandigarh Shri Gulabchand Kataria ji in Chandigarh. The delegation included President of Hindu Mahaparv Sabha Shri BP Arora, President of Central Gurdwara Sabha Sardar Tara Singh and other dignitaries.
The delegation apprised the Governor Administrator that notices are being sent by the Chandigarh Administration to demolish religious institutions, which is completely unfair and wrong. As per the orders of the court, all religious institutions and places established before 2009 are to be given protection. Issuing notices without proper investigation and ignoring the orders of the court is illegal.
The delegation requested the administration to suspend action on all demolition notices with immediate effect in full respect of the orders of the court in this matter. Also, appropriate steps should be taken to ensure the safety of religious institutions and protection of their rights.
Governor Administrator Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji listened to the delegation attentively and assured to take the matter seriously and give instructions to the administration.
The delegation expressed the expectation from the administration that the court orders for the protection of religious places will be strictly followed and the faith of the religious communities will be maintained.
