Registration mandatory for operating drones and UAVs in Una district

Una, June 10 - Registration has now been made mandatory for operating drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Una district. District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal has issued these orders under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Una, June 10 - Registration has now been made mandatory for operating drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Una district. District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal has issued these orders under Section 33 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.
Keeping in mind security reasons and public interest, the orders issued state that any person, organization, institution or government agency operating a drone will have to get their drones registered with the concerned police station within the next seven days. Drones to be purchased in future will also have to be registered within seven days from the date of purchase.
For registration, it will be mandatory to provide the model of the drone, serial number (if any), flight capacity, purpose of use (such as agriculture, surveillance, photography, emergency services etc.), name, address and contact information of the operator, and a copy of the remote pilot license, if applicable.
The Deputy Commissioner has asked all the station in-charges to prepare a register for registration and send reports to the Superintendent of Police Una from time to time.
He said that in case of violation of the orders, action will be taken against the concerned person or organization under the Disaster Management Act and other related laws.
