SAS Nagar, June 9- Employees of National Health Mission (NHM) have announced a struggle against the government during the Ludhiana by-election. The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of NHM employees.
Speaking about this, NHM leaders informed that about 80 leaders from 19 districts attended the meeting. The main agenda of the meeting was to decide the outline of the struggle to be carried out by the NHM employees during the Ludhiana by-election. They informed that on this occasion it was unanimously decided to form an NHM task force, which will lead the struggle launched by the NHM employees.
The leaders said that NHM employees have been providing health services in more than 50 categories in Punjab for a long time. However, various governments have only exploited these employees and deprived them of their rights.
The leaders said that various governments made promises to regularize these employees, but it is regrettable that no government has lived up to its promises. He said that before the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, the present cabinet ministers and MLAs had participated in the rallies organised by the NHM employees against the Congress government and promised regularisation as soon as the government was formed. However, despite dozens of meetings with departmental officials after the formation of the government, the present government is only adopting a policy of procrastination. The NHM employees who played a vital role in forming this government have neither been regularised nor has any salary been increased despite the completion of almost three years of the government.
The leaders announced that as part of the scheduled struggle, on June 13, all the NHM employees will assemble in their respective districts and blocks by keeping work closed and burning the effigy of the government. On June 15, 9,000 NHM employees will hold a massive rally in Ludhiana, burn the effigy of the government and make the local people aware about the failures of the government.
Present in the meeting were Avtar Singh Mansa, Sukhjit Kamboj Ropar, Dr Sunil Targotra Gurdaspur, Gurpreet Bhullar Muktsar Sahib, Harpal Sodhi Fatehgarh Sahib, Deepshikha Kashyap Mohali, Pritpal Singh Ludhiana, Rajesh Kumar Fazilka, Surinder Kamboj, Narinder Singh Ferozepur, Ramanveer Kaur Bathinda, Gurvinder Singh Moga, Avtar Singh Amritsar, Ravinder Kaur Tarn Taran, Dr Sunil Nawanshahr, Dr Jatinder Singh Malerkotla, Rajinder Singh Sangrur, and Dr Vipan Jalandhar.
