SAS Nagar, 4 June: The Summer Camp being organized by the Child Welfare Council, Punjab, at Bal Bhawan, Mohali, entered its third day with a vibrant mix of cultural and creative activities. The camp, which began two days ago, aims to engage children in meaningful activities that promote cultural awareness and social values.
On Day 3, sessions were dedicated to Yoga, Bhangra, various dance forms, and collage making. Dr. Pritam Sandhu, Secretary of the Child Welfare Council, informed that children enthusiastically participated in a series of yoga exercises, including the butterfly pose, cat pose, Surya Namaskar, Shanti Path, Bhramari Pranayama, and Shavasana.
In the collage-making session, Mr. Mohinder Tuli, a senior artist from Chandigarh, guided the children in creating artistic items using cuttings from magazines and papers. He explained that collage making involves pasting different paper elements onto charts, flower vases, pitchers, and other surfaces to create decorative designs.
The Bhangra session was conducted by Mr. Rimpi, who taught the children traditional Bhangra steps and other forms of folk dance. The primary objective of organizing such events is to foster a deeper connection between children and their cultural roots and social norms.
The sessions were well-received, with both children and parents expressing great appreciation for the initiative. The camp activities will continue tomorrow with more engaging programs.
