Nagar 03 June 2025: As part of the campaign against drug abuse launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, MLA Derabassi Kuljit Singh Randhawa today took out “Nasha Mukti Yatra” in villages Bartana, Barana, Sihpur, Simbli, Kasauli and Dhirmazra to make people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse.

Nagar 03 June 2025: As part of the campaign against drug abuse launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, MLA Derabassi Kuljit Singh Randhawa today took out “Nasha Mukti Yatra” in villages Bartana, Barana, Sihpur, Simbli, Kasauli and Dhirmazra to make people aware about the ill effects of drug abuse.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that the purpose of this tour is to make the young generation aware about the negative effects of drug abuse on the human body and to keep people away from it.
He said that the Punjab Government has issued a safe Punjab helpline number on which any person can give information about drug smugglers, this number is 9779100200. He said that the identity of the informer is kept confidential. MLA Randhawa said that the war against drug abuse is a campaign of the whole society and the cooperation of the whole society is necessary in this.
He said that the cooperation of the whole society is necessary to end any social evil. Only the whole society together can end the evil of drug abuse. He said that rural security committees have been formed in every village. The cooperation of every section of the society is necessary to strengthen these committees further, so that complete monitoring can be done on drug smugglers in the villages.
Addressing the people present on this occasion, he said that we should always keep our children aware about the ill effects of drug abuse. He said that if every ward or village panchayat takes a pledge to live a drug-free life, then drugs or drug smugglers can be eradicated from the root. Randhawa made all the people present pledge to give their full cooperation in the campaign for a drug-free life.
He said that meaningful efforts are being made to include drug addicts in the mainstream of society by providing them proper treatment. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration and police department in making Punjab drug free.
On this occasion, members of defence committees, village Panchs, Sarpanchs and administrative officers along with villagers were present.
