KVK Mohali Awareness Camp under Developed Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 3: On the sixth day of the 15-day nationwide initiative “Developed Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” being run by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, S.A.S. Nagar organized awareness camps under the leadership of Deputy Director, Dr. Balbir Singh Khada at villages Barsalpur, Naglian, Mehrauli, Bassi Issa Khan, Banur and Mote Majra.
During the program, farmer brothers, sisters and youth were given information about the crops sown in the kharif season, dairy farms, goat farming, latest techniques of fish farming and schemes of the Government of India and Punjab related to agriculture, animal husbandry and allied industries.
Dr. Harmeet Kaur and Dr. Munish Sharma told the farmers about soil testing, organic farming, crops and vegetables sown in the kharif season. Dr. Parul Gupta gave information about value added products of milk and traditional grains. Dr. Gulgul Singh told about the government schemes related to fish farming to increase their income by adopting the profession. Dr. Amandeep Singh told about the importance of metal powder, animal chaat etc. in the diet for the health of animals. 
Agricultural Development Officers from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare S. Gurpreet Singh and S. Parminder Singh, S. Shubhkarman Singh, S. Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Kumar and S. Sucha Singh and Dairy Development Inspector S. Karanvir Singh from Dairy Development Department told the farmers about the schemes of the department.
Dr. R.S. Ghuman, in-charge of FASC, told about the types of crops to be sown in the Kharif season.
