Derabassi 09/01/25- Police has succeeded in arresting two drug smugglers with opium on the basis of secret information. Police has registered a case against both the accused and started further action.
On receiving the information, Nahar Singh Chowki Incharge Mubarakpur said that he was present in the nearby PWD Rest House Mubarakpur in connection with a special blockade with the police party. During this, the informer informed him that Prabhjot Singh son Nishan Singh resident Ludhiana and Lakhvir Singh son Amarpal Singh resident Ludhiana who bring opium in large quantities from outside states and supply it in Dera Bassi, Zirakpur and its surrounding areas. He told that even today Prabhjot Singh and Lakhvir Singh were coming towards Derabassi and Mubarakpur in a white colored Dzire car with their car number PB-10-FU-1888 brand Swift.
The police stopped them and asked them to stop. When they checked both of them, 900 grams of opium was recovered from them. After which the police arrested both the accused and registered a case against them under the NDPS Act and started further action.
