
District Legal Services Authority holds meeting regarding ‘SAATHI’ scheme
SAS Nagar, 23 May: The National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi launched the ‘SAATHI’ scheme on May 13, under which orphans across the country will be identified and provided benefits of government welfare schemes, help in obtaining Aadhar Cards and ensuring free legal assistance, said Mrs Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, here, today.
SAS Nagar, 23 May: The National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi launched the ‘SAATHI’ scheme on May 13, under which orphans across the country will be identified and provided benefits of government welfare schemes, help in obtaining Aadhar Cards and ensuring free legal assistance, said Mrs Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, here, today.
She informed that to implement this Scheme effectively, a SAATHI unit has been established at the district level, which includes, besides them, the District Child Protection Officer, Tehsildar Mohali, Kharar and Derabassi, District Education Officer (Elementary), District Programme, DSP incharge of the Special Juvenile Protection Unit, NGOs, lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers.
A meeting of the SAATHI unit was conducted by the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar during which the members of the Unit were provided detailed information about the scheme and were encouraged to work together for its effective implementation.
