Una, 3 February - After a long wait, the state level Haroli festival is going to be organized once again with its full grandeur. This festival will be an opportunity to give new energy to the cultural and traditional heritage of Haroli region. The district administration has started preparations for the event and has prepared a comprehensive strategy to make it memorable. In this sequence, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal held a meeting of officials in the BDO office auditorium of Haroli on Monday and gave necessary guidelines for a successful event.

The festival will be held in Kangra Maidan, inauguration with Shobha Yatra on 27 April-
The Deputy Commissioner said that the state level Haroli festival will be organized with full grandeur in Kangra Maidan of Haroli. In accordance with the guidelines of Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri, the emphasis will be on making this festival memorable and full of public participation.

The festival will be formally inaugurated with a grand procession on 27 April. The cultural evenings of 27, 28 and 29 April will be the attraction of this festival, where local educational institutions and cultural groups will give colourful presentations during the day. At the same time, in the evening, national level eminent personalities along with local artists and famous artists of Himachal will enliven the stage with their excellent performances.

Trade fair will run for a month-
The Deputy Commissioner said that this festival will run for a month, in which a trade fair will be organized for the whole month in Kangar Maidan. In this fair, self-help groups and business institutions of the state and the country will get an opportunity to display their products, which will promote local entrepreneurship and business.

Sports and exciting activities will be organized-
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that various sports competitions will be organized with the aim of keeping the youth away from drugs and connecting them with positive activities. In these, mainly wrestling and kabaddi competitions will be organized on a large scale. Apart from this, adventure entertainment activities will also be promoted, which will include other exciting activities including hot air ballooning.

The fair will be decorated with various attractions-
Programs like animal fair, dog show and baby show will also be organized in the festival. Apart from this, development exhibition of various departments will also be organized, in which information about government schemes and achievements will be given.

Committees formed for successful organization-
The Deputy Commissioner said that various committees have been formed to complete the preparations of the festival smoothly. Additional Deputy Commissioner has been appointed as the Fair Officer, while the responsibility of other important arrangements has been assigned to different committees.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to prepare the layout plan of the festival event as soon as possible and the related tender processes should be completed within the stipulated time frame.
In the meeting, SDM Haroli Vishal Thakur assured that all the necessary arrangements will be ensured in a timely manner to make the festival a success. District and Haroli sub-division office heads of various departments were present in the meeting.
After the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the Kangar ground with the SDM and other officials regarding the festival event.
