Hoshiarpur- NSS Unit of Rayat College of Law Railmajra in collaboration with NSS Unit LTSU Punjab successfully organized blood donation camp in the campus. This noble effort was sponsored by Rotary Club Rupnagar Central and blood donation was done by Blood Bank Civil Hospital Rupnagar. Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in the blood donation camp.
Many eminent personalities attended the event. Dr. Parwinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, LTSU Punjab attended as Chief Guest while Dr. Tarsem Singh, Civil Surgeon Rupnagar was present as Guest of Honour. Other guests of honour included Dr. Rajiv Mahajan, Registrar, Dr. Jagdeep Kaur, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, LTSU, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Dean, LTSU, Dr. Mahinder Singh, Vice Principal, Rayat College of Law, Smt. Rattan Kaur, NSS Unit Coordinator, LTSU and Kultar Singh, President, Rotary Club Ropar Central were present.
Faculty members and students of Rayat College of Law also actively participated in the event. Dr. Parwinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, LTSU Punjab appreciated the efforts of both the NSS units and encouraged the students to participate in such life saving initiatives and further said that even a drop of blood can save a life. Dr. Tarsem Singh, Civil Surgeon, Rupnagar also blessed the students and highly appreciated the event recognizing the significant impact of voluntary blood donation. 50 units of blood were collected from healthy individuals in this camp. Apart from the blood donors, 12 NSS volunteers of Rayat College of Law played a vital role in managing the registration and coordination duties of the hospital. Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal, Rayat College of Law acknowledged the contribution of the NSS unit of Rayat College of Law, giving special recognition to Dr. Sohnu for leading and organizing the event.
Coordinator of NSS Unit of LTSU Mrs. Rattan Kaur was also appreciated for her valuable support and coordination. The importance of blood donation was highlighted in the programme and students were encouraged to contribute to such humanitarian work in future.
