All the three leaders strongly appreciated this historic campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal and described it as a decisive initiative towards the eradication of drug addiction. He lashed out at the previous governments, alleging that they ignored the serious issue of drug addiction for political gain, thereby making the future of Punjab's youth bleak.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that 'war against drugs' is no longer a government program, but a movement with people's participation. He said that Punjabis have always fought for the country and society, but now this war is against the biggest enemy of society, 'drugs'. He said that strict action is being taken against drug dealers and no one will be spared. Also, facilities are being increased in rehabilitation centers for drug addicts so that they can start a dignified life again.
MP Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal said that this journey has now taken the form of a mass movement. He said that daily meetings are being held in 351 villages across the state, in which the youth are being made aware and motivated towards rehabilitation. He said that Punjab government's goal is drug-free Punjab and no compromise will be made for it.
MLA Jasveer Singh Raja Gill of Tanda assembly constituency said that 118 panchayats of his area have sent a written proposal to the Chief Minister assuring that drugs will neither be sold nor sold in their villages. He said that property related to drug trade worth Rs 17 crore has been seized in Tanda area so far and many traffickers are in jail. He reiterated that zero tolerance against drug addiction is our resolve.
