
Agricultural training camp organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bahowal.
Hoshiarpur:- PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bahowal organized a two-day agricultural training camp in collaboration with ICAR Indian Wheat and Barley Research Institute, Karnal. Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal attended the closing ceremony of this camp as the chief guest. Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal reiterated the commitment of the Punjab Government towards the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and gave information about the government facilities in this regard.

He said that the Punjab Government is taking every necessary step for the betterment of agriculture, especially the availability of canal water and electricity for agriculture and emphasized that farmers should adopt the latest agricultural recommendations of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, especially conservation of natural resources in Kharif crops, direct sowing of paddy and other water saving techniques.
He praised the work of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and motivated the farmers and farmer women of the area to take full advantage of its services and training programs. On this occasion, Dr. Maninder Singh Bauns, Associate Director (Training), PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra welcomed the chief guest and farmers and women farmers. He informed about the activities being run by the center for farmer welfare. He also emphasized on adopting agriculture related business to earn more profit from agriculture.
He also told about providing agricultural knowledge and latest technical information through various social media platforms being run by Punjab Agricultural University. Dr. Satyavir Singh and Dr. Anil Khippal, Principal Scientists of ICAR-Indian Wheat and Barley Research Institute, Karnal, while telling about this training camp and project being run by their department for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, said that they will provide all possible help in this regard in future also. They also highlighted the activities of their department. During the training, the scientists of PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Hoshiarpur Dr. Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science), Mr. Gurpratap Singh, Associate Professor (Crop Science), Dr. Ajaib Singh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), Dr. Karamvir Singh Garcha, Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science) and Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor (Home Science) shared detailed information about animal husbandry, latest crop production of Kharif crops, fruits and vegetables, plant protection and water management techniques and nutritious diet. The guests who arrived at the camp made available battery operated spray pumps for use under the demonstration to the farmers and farmer women present under the project. Among others present in this training were Panch Balveer Kaur from village Bahowal, Madan Lal from village Bajwara, Sukhwinder Singh from village Bahowal, Ram Ji from village Bhuno, Malkit Singh from village Saidpur, Navninderjit Singh from village Mahilpur, Hardeep Singh from village Fatehpur Kothi, Malkit Chand from village Dihana etc. In the end, Praveen Kumar Soni, Sarpanch of village Jaijon Doaba was the chief guest, experts and farmers and farmer women were thanked.
