The prohibition order states that due to the proximity of district Patiala to Chandigarh and Haryana and the presence of industry there, many people from other states and outside districts come for employment/work etc. Apart from this, students/trainees from other states for studying in other educational institutions/institutions, persons belonging to various professions/businesses as paying guests and service workers in call centers are also staying on rent. Many of these persons go back after committing the incidents and it becomes difficult to trace them. The landlords do not register the information of these tenants with the police due to which there is a fear of disruption of the law and order situation. These orders will remain in force till August 5, 2024.
