A meeting of all the Palledar Mazdoor Unions of Punjab was held on 07-05-2025 at Anaaj Bhawan Sector-39, Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Punjab Pradesh Palledar Mazdoor Union President Sindharpal Singh. In which Director of Food Supply Department Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and other senior officials of Food Supply Department participated. In which discussions were held regarding the demands of the laborers.
Punjab Mazdoor Sangathan President Mohan Singh Manjoli said that the Director assured that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible by considering the demands of the Palledar Mazdoor Unions. According to the demand letter given by the laborers regarding ending the contract system, the Punjab Government will pay attention to it and will try to implement it accordingly.
So that the hired laborers can be given direct work and regarding the payments of bills etc. for the work done during the Rabi season, instructions will be given to the concerned department to take bills at the district level and pay the hired laborers. If old payment like Atta Dal Scheme or any other payment is pending then it should be made as soon as possible.
