She said that whenever such a siren is sounded on Kallu or after that, the general public is expected to come out of high-rise buildings and reach a ground or underground bunker as soon as they hear this sound, if there is no roof there, then lie down under a tree or in the open.
People who are living in buildings should stay away from windows and especially glass. During this time, they should turn off their gas and electricity connections and keep a stock of drinking water and food items according to their need.
She said that during this time, pedestrians or vehicles on the road should immediately give way to emergency vehicles, which may include fire brigade or ambulance. He said that these are being played for practice by the Civil Defence, so that their functionality and sound can be checked. He said that there is no need to panic in any way during this time.
He said that a similar blackout exercise will be done tomorrow at 8 pm. During the blackout, all the lights of the city will be off and the people of the city are also appealed to keep the inverters or generators in their houses off during this time. If for some reason they have to keep them on, then they should run their lights in such a way that their light does not go out of the window or door.
Apart from this, the lights of CCTV cameras, which turn on automatically when it is dark, should also be turned off during this time, so that complete darkness can be seen in the city. During this time, if any vehicle is running on the road, then it should turn off its lights, move off the road and stop on a kutcha road.
