Mohali, Phase-1:- Today, the Punjab Excise Department took a major action on the Phase-1 border between Chandigarh and Mohali and seized a large consignment of illegal liquor being brought from Chandigarh to Mohali. The operation was led by Excise Inspector Vikas Kumar, under whose leadership the Excise team started checking vehicles by setting up a special check post.
During the investigation, a large quantity of beer and expensive liquor bottles were recovered from several vehicles, which were being brought to Mohali illegally. The team took immediate action and seized all the bottles on the spot and gave a strict warning to the persons concerned.
Inspector Vikas Kumar clarified that "bringing liquor from Chandigarh to Mohali is against the rules. If any person is caught again in such activities, legal action will be taken against him." He further said that the department will continue to do such checking regularly so that illegal liquor smuggling can be curbed.
After this action, the local administration and the general public have appreciated the promptness of the excise department. The department says that this campaign will continue in the future and strict vigil will be kept on the liquor mafia.
