Balachaur- To build a good society, we all need to unite and protect the ideas of the Constitution maker Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Sahib. These views were expressed by Jasvir Singh Garhi, Chairman of Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission, while attending a program dedicated to the 134th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in village Mehndipur, Balachaur.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was present as the chief guest at Welfare Society (Regd.) Mehndipur and Satguru Ravidas Gurudwara Sahib Mehndipur. MLA Balachaur Santosh Kataria and District Planning Committee Chairman Satnam Singh Jalalpur were also specially present on this occasion. Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said in his address that until caste-based discrimination is eradicated from the society, we cannot imagine a good society.
He said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar has given us a very revolutionary message of 'Read-Join-Struggle', but we all have not been able to implement this message till date. He said that rising above religion, caste and party politics, no stone will be left unturned to provide justice to the Dalit class, needy, poor, victims and exploited.
He said that as the Chairman of the Commission, many matters related to the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes have been brought to the notice of the government, which will be implemented soon. On this occasion, MLA Balachaur Santosh Kataria said that it is only due to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar that we have got equal rights. Therefore, his ideology cannot be ignored.
He said that the true tribute to Baba Saheb will be only when we try to follow the path shown by him. Earlier, the prasad of Sri Sukhmani Sahib Ji was offered, after which various speakers discussed the biography and works of Baba Saheb.
