Nawanshahr- A prominent social worker and renowned personality of the area, Hardev Singh Kahma, presented Rs 2 lakh as assistance to the management of Municipal Public Park Nawanshahr for cleaning and maintenance of the public park and mini forest. During the simple and impressive function held at the public park, he said that all the institutions of the city that do good work in the field of social service are always ready to help them.
On this occasion, he said that during the past years, the Public Park Committee and Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society have jointly done commendable work in the field of social service, health, education and environmental protection. There, especially the Public Park Committee has played an important role for the beauty, elegance and green appearance of the city. He said that all the institutions that come forward to serve with their hands are full of humility and meekness.
This is the reason why he feels happy to help such institutions. On this occasion, Halka Incharge Lalat Mohan Pathak Ballu while addressing the present said that today the maintenance of the public park and initiatives like mini jungle are making a valuable contribution to the development of the city. He said that he always feels a special pleasure in contributing and getting involved in this service.
On this occasion, Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society Mukh Sewadar Surjit Singh welcomed the guests and said that personalities like S. Kahma and Ballu ji have always made us proud and encouraged us by praising both the institutions. Public Park Committee Head Didar Singh ji while thanking the guests said that S. Kahma had contributed three lakhs for this service last year too and this time too he has boosted our spirits by donating an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs for this service. He said that our institutions will always try to live up to the expectations of the city residents.
