
District Legal Services Authority provided information about free legal aid to NREGA workers.
Nawanshahr- As per the guidelines of National Legal Services Authority and under the orders received from Honorable Member Secretary Punjab State Legal Services Authority SAS Nagar, District and Sessions Judge Honorable Priya Sood and Dr. Amandeep CJM cum Secretary District Legal Services Authority Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, under the guidelines of District Legal Services Authority Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Paralegal Volunteers Vasdev Pardesi, Kashmir Singh and Des Raj Bali of District Legal Services Authority Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized a legal awareness seminar at village Bhin.

Speaking on the occasion, they gave information about free legal aid and said that if someone's rights are being violated or if legal aid is required at any time, the services of a lawyer are provided free of cost by the District Legal Services Authority. Any SC, ST caste person, disabled, industrial worker, prisoner in jail, begar victim, woman, child, elderly and any person whose annual income is less than three lakh rupees. Lawyer services are provided free of cost to all the above.
On this occasion, giving information about the NREGA scheme, it was said that under this scheme, it is necessary to provide employment to rural citizens for one hundred days every year and it is very important for the beneficiaries to have MNREGA job cards which are made new every year. If any person is interested in working under this, he can contact the village sarpanch. On this occasion, giving information about the Punjab Labor Card, Des Raj Bali said that anyone related to building construction, whose age is between 18 and 60 years and has worked in the construction sector for at least 90 days during the last 12 months, can take advantage of government schemes.
On this occasion, detailed information was given about the facilities provided to the affected women by Sakhi One Stop Center. Paralegal volunteers Vasdev Pardesi, Kashmir Singh, and Des Raj Bali and NREGA Mehta Jyoti and NREGA workers were present on the occasion.
