Civil Services Exam Results Out, Shakti Dubey Tops.

New Delhi, April 22 - Shakti Dubey has topped the Civil Services Exam 2024 in the results announced by the Union Public Service Commission on Tuesday. Dubey has done her graduation (Bachelor of Science) in Biochemistry from Allahabad University. A statement issued by the commission said that she has qualified for the exam by choosing Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects.

Harshita Goyal, a B.Com graduate from MS University of Baroda, secured the second rank by taking Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects. While Dongre Archit Parag, who has done Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VIT Vellore, secured the third position in the rank by taking Philosophy as her optional subject.
It is noteworthy that the Civil Services Examination is conducted annually in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Interview
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024 was conducted by the UPSC on June 16 last year to select officers including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). A total of 9,92,599 candidates had applied for this examination, out of which 5,83,213 candidates actually appeared for the examination. A total of 14,627 candidates qualified for the written (main) examination held in September 2024. Out of these, 2,845 candidates qualified for the personality test or interview.
Out of these, 1,009 candidates (725 males and 284 females) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services.
Three women and two men in top five
Shah Margi Chirag, who holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, secured the fourth rank with Sociology as her optional subject. Akash Garg, who holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and has done engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, secured the fifth rank with Sociology as her optional subject.
