Chandigarh 20/04/25: Punjab BJP General Secretary Dayal Singh Sodhi said that the incidents of wheat fire are continuously increasing in Punjab. The reason for this is that the electricity department is not repairing the electric wires on time, due to which the wheat is catching fire due to short circuit. This is a negligence. 
He said that Punjab is an agricultural state, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana should be implemented here, so that the farmers' crops that are being damaged can be compensated. He said that this insurance scheme has been implemented in other states. But it is very bad that this insurance scheme has not been implemented in Punjab till now. The farmers' Rabi and Kharif crops can only be saved, so that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana can be implemented. This will benefit the farmers on a large scale.
