145 selected in Job Fest held at Government Polytechnic College, Khuni Majra.

SAS Nagar, April 18: As per the directions of Director Technical Education & Industrial Training Punjab, Munish Kumar, IAS, a mega job fest was organized at GPC Khuni Majra for the students who passed out from technical educational institutions. Additional Director S. Ravinder Singh Hundal attended the event as the Chief Guest. Principal Ms. Raksha Kiran introduced the representatives of various companies to the Chief Guest.

She informed that during this fest companies like Swaraj Mahindra, Godrej, Steel Strips & Wheels Derabassi, Global Engineers & Consultants and Walia Creative Architects selected students from Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering and B.Arch streams. Terming the event as a milestone, Ravinder Singh Hundal said that the ultimate aim of the Technical Education Department is to enhance the technical skills of the students and get them jobs in reputed companies.
College media in-charge Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that a total of 14 technical educational institutions participated in the event, in which 250 students from across Punjab took part. College training and placement officer Ravinder Singh Walia said that the companies have selected a total of 145 students for the final round. Swaraj Mahindra selected 52, Godrej 51, Steel Strips 19, Global Engineers and Consultants and Walia Creative Architects selected 33 candidates.
Among others, Deputy Director Technical Education Harjeetpal Singh, Assistant Director Sangeeta Goyal, Chairman IIA Punjab Pritpal Singh Walia, Godrej Human Resource Manager Tarun Walia, Production Manager Rajneesh Abrol, NK Kapil from Steel Strips, Engineer Harjeet Singh from Global Consultants and Bikram Bhatt from Swaraj Mahindra participated in the job fair. Students from Bathinda, Batala, Ferozepur, Jalandhar, Barnala, Talwara, Ranwa, Hoshiarpur and Mohali came to the job fair.
