Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh), April 17- Union Minister Amit Shah today said that Naxalism, which is limited to four districts of India, will be eliminated by March 31 next year. Shah said that the CRPF is the 'backbone' of this mission. Shah was addressing the 86th Raising Day function of the Central Reserve Police Force here.
Shah said, "Naxalism has become limited to only four districts of India. According to the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this menace will be eliminated from the country by March 31, 2026. The CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) and the CRPF, especially its Cobra Battalion, are playing a major role in eliminating Naxalism from the country.
The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (Cobra) is a special unit of the CRPF, known for its expertise in guerrilla and jungle warfare, especially in combating the Naxal threat.
Shah said, “The CRPF has set up more than 400 Forward Operating Bases in Naxal-affected areas. Due to this, violence in these areas has come down by more than 70 percent and we are now close to eliminating it.”
He said that the contribution of the CRPF to national security is unparalleled, be it fighting terrorists in the Kashmir Valley, ensuring peace in the North-East, or today confining the hardcore Naxals to just four districts. “In all these achievements, CRPF jawans have played a major role,” he said. "No book can do justice to their bravery, sense of duty and courage."
