SAS Nagar, April 14- The District Mohali unit of Punjab Gatka Association (Regd.) organised the 2nd Virsa Sambhal Gatka Competition 2025 at Gurdwara Amb Sahib Phase 8, Mohali, in which the top Gatka teams displayed their prowess.
Before the Virsa Sambhal Gatka Competition, the area from Gurdwara Sachcha Dhan Sahib 3B1 Mohali to Gurdwara Amb Sahib Phase 8 Mohali was decorated, in which the Gatka players participating in the competition participated in Khalsa attire.
The Virsa Sambhal Gatka Competition, which ran from 5 pm to late night, was formally inaugurated by Gurdwara Amb Sahib Manager Rajinder Singh Tahora. Local MLA Kulwant Singh, who arrived as the chief guest in this heritage conservation Gatka competition organized by the entire team of Dr. Kuldeep Singh Bakarpur, Jagtar Singh Jaggi, Davinder Singh Jugni and Amarjit Singh under the leadership of District Gatka Association (Regd.) Mohali President Akbinder Singh Gosal, appreciated this initiative of the association and provided financial assistance of Rs 51 thousand to the Gatka Association.
On this occasion, in the group performance, the team of Bhai Bachittar Singh Gatka Akhara Hathoor (Moga) stood first and the team of Miri Piri Gatka Akhara Ludhiana stood second. In the free stick fight individual competition, Bhai Bachittar Singh Gatka Akhara Hathoor stood first and Baba Hanuman Singh Gatka Akhara Phase 11 Mohali stood second. The referee panel included Harmanjot Singh, Rajveer Singh, Amandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Prince, Gurpreet Singh and Kulwinder Singh. The entire Gatka competition was conducted very smoothly from the stage by Bhai Harjinder Singh Damdama Sahib and Jagtar Singh Jaggi. Punjab Gatka Association President Rajinder Singh Sohal and General Secretary Baljinder Singh Toor, who arrived specially, distributed prizes to the winners.
