
Sukhbir Badal re-elected as Shiromani Akali Dal President.
Amritsar, April 12 - In the delegate session for the election of the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, which is underway at Teja Singh Samundri Hall, Sukhbir Singh Badal has been unanimously elected as the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal. His name was proposed by the acting President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Balwinder Singh Bhunder, while Paramjit Sarna seconded his name and Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal seconded.

The delegates were asked to propose other names for the candidate for the President, but after no names were received, Sukhbir Singh Badal was unanimously declared the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal. The delegates approved this with a roar of cheers.
Earlier, resolutions were read out, which were accepted with cheers in the hall.
Through a resolution, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht has been appealed to reconsider the matter of withdrawing the Fakhar-e-Qaum Award from S. Parkash Singh Badal. It is noteworthy that during today's session, the President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Advocate Harjinder Dhami, was absent, due to which this matter has become a topic of discussion in Sikh circles.
