Garhshankar- Today on 11th April 2025, the foundation day of All India Kisan Sabha was celebrated with great enthusiasm in various villages of Tehsil Garhshankar. The meetings held at various places were addressed by All India Kisan Sabha State Secretary Darshan Singh Mattoo, State Vice President Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Subhash Mattoo, Amarjit Singh Kulewal, Iqbal Singh Jasowal, Prem Singh Rana, Harbhajan Singh Atwal, Kashmir Singh Bhajjal, Jujhar Singh Mattoo, Joga Singh Mattoo, Bakshish Singh Dayal, Prem Singh Premi, Ranjodh Singh, Santokh Singh Bhilowal, Mahinder Singh, Parshan Singh Lehli and other leaders and hoisted flags on their houses.
State leaders Darshan Singh Mattoo, Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Subhash Mattoo, while talking about the glorious history of Kisan Sabha, said that in 1940, the Lahore Front had got the heavy Jaziya tax imposed during the new settlement waived off. In 1944, the farmers won the Montgomery Half and Half Watt Morcha and made them the owners of 20 lakh acres of land in Punjab.
So far, hundreds of struggles have been fought and taxes worth 142 crores have been waived in the struggle for prosperity. Now SKM, which includes the All India Kisan Sabha, has continued the struggle until all three anti-agriculture laws are repealed. Now the struggle continues against the atrocities of the Modi government, the APMC National Agricultural Marketing Policy Draft and to get legal recognition for MSP. We will fight, we will win, we will continue the battle.
