Una, April 10- Every person has a dream in his life...to have a concrete roof over his head, a home where life passes peacefully, family laughs together, and every corner is full of happiness. But when financial constraints and social limitations prevent that dream from becoming a reality, then the support of the government is no less than a boon.

The Himachal government is making the dream of thousands of such families of having a concrete house come true through the Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana. This scheme provides financial assistance for the construction of a concrete house to those eligible families of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes, who have their own land but lack of resources deprives them of a strong roof.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has consistently given top priority to bringing major improvements in the lives of the poor, needy and deprived sections. He has a special emphasis on providing proper government assistance to the poor and deprived. As per his guidelines, work is being done to cover all the eligible people in Una district under the scheme.

Help of Rs 2.61 crore so far in Una
Unna's District Welfare Officer Anita Sharma says that in the last two years, assistance of about Rs 2.61 crore has been distributed for building 174 houses under this scheme in the district, due to which the dream of pucca houses of poor and needy families has been realized.

What is the specialty of the scheme
Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh is provided to the eligible beneficiaries. This assistance is given to those persons in whose name the land is registered and they belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Class.

Many beneficiaries of Una district never tire of expressing their gratitude to the government for the assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh each received from the government to build a permanent house under the Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana. They say that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri have fulfilled their dreams, and no amount of thanks would be enough for this.
Malkit Kumar of Sunehra village said that the kutcha roof of the house used to leak during rains. But with the help received from the government, their worries are now over. His family is very happy that with the government help, their permanent house has now been built. Gurbachani of Sunehra has also expressed her gratitude to the government for making her dream of a permanent house come true.
Like them, many beneficiaries like Kashmir Singh of Nangal Salangdi, Krishna Gopal and Tarsem Lal of Raipur Sahoda, Garmito Devi of Sunehra, Harbans Singh of Bahdala, Ashok Kumar of Barnoh, Eena Devi of Jakhera, Roshni Devi of Jhambar and Lakshmi Devi of Mehatpur told that with the help of the government, their dream of a pucca house has come true. All the beneficiaries never get tired of expressing their gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal says that the district administration is working with full readiness to provide the benefits of government housing schemes to every eligible person of the district.
