Classes being conducted at Mukhyamantri Yogashala, Phase-11 are getting a great response: SDM Damandeep Kaur

S.A.S.Nagar, 03 April 2025: SDM Damandeep Kaur said that CM Yogashala, started in the city with the mission of keeping the health of the city and villagers healthy under the Chief Minister Yogashala, is getting a great response from the people. People are enjoying physical and mental health by practicing yoga continuously. Yogashalas are being run by yoga instructors in different parts of the city, people attending these yogashalas are appreciating this unique initiative of the Punjab government.

People are enjoying physical and mental health by practicing yoga continuously. Yogashalas are being run by yoga instructors in different parts of the city, people attending these yogashalas are appreciating this unique initiative of the Punjab government.
Yoga instructor Ayushi said that people are promoting yoga a lot. They organize four yoga sessions daily. Giving more information, yoga trainer Ayushi told that she holds her first class from 6 to 7 in the morning behind Park Side Gurudwara, Phase-11. The second class is held from 3.45 pm to 5.45 pm at Sports Complex, Phase-11, the third class is held from 4.55 pm to 5.55 pm at Laxmi Narayan Mandir Hall, Phase-11 and the fourth class is held from 6.10 pm to 7.10 pm at Commando Complex, Phase-11. People are taking full advantage of these classes.
He told that at least 25 people participate in each session and coaches are present to guide the participants taking part in the yoga session. Yoga trainer Ayushi also told that the number of senior citizens is increasing in her yoga classes, because senior citizens feel better by coming to yoga classes to get rid of loneliness sitting at home. Apart from this, she also told that in school, children are taught to stay healthy through games and yoga asanas, due to which the inclination of children towards yoga is increasing.
The timings for the yoga sessions are morning and evening, so it depends on the participants to join the sessions as per their convenience. He said that apart from senior citizens and children, women also join the sessions regularly to keep themselves healthy by performing yoga asanas. He said that many people have got rid of their various diseases through yoga.
He further said, "There is no restriction or any fee to join the yoga sessions, the sessions are completely based on the concept of making people aware about healthy lifestyle by spending some time in meditation." He said that since most of the participants belong to the female and elderly category, the dropout rate in between the classes is also very low.
