Una, March 22- An awareness camp was organized on Saturday in the auditorium of Himachal Pradesh Defense Academy, Chandralok Colony, Una through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment under the chairmanship of Director, Retired Colonel D P Vashisht. In this awareness camp, information was given about the Protection of Civil Rights Act 1955 and Scheduled Castes / Tribes Atrocities Prevention Act 1989.
During this, Tehsil Welfare Officer Una, Jatinder Sharma gave detailed information about various Acts / Rules including the strength of the disabled, Disabled Relief Allowance, Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension Scheme, Disabled Marriage Scheme, Disabled Scholarship Scheme, Disabled Skill Development, National Trust, UDID (Disability Identity Card), Self Employment Loan, Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Home Construction Grant, Follow-up Program, Inter-caste Marriage Award Scheme, Computer Application, National Family Assistance Scheme being implemented by the department. He also gave information about the evaluation camps for artificial limbs and other assistive devices to be held during the month of April so that maximum number of Divyangjans can be benefited. On this occasion, about 110 people including retired Colonel (BSM) Kuldeep Singh, instructor retired Captain Vijay Singh, trainees participated.
