Civil Surgeon directed to implement RBSK program in a better way

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 21: Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain held a review meeting with Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Staff Nurses and Pharmacists under RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) and directed that this program should be implemented more effectively.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 21: Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain held a review meeting with Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Staff Nurses and Pharmacists under RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) and directed that this program should be implemented more effectively.
Addressing the meeting, the Civil Surgeon said that basic checkup, referral, making proper arrangements for children suffering from diseases and motivating them for treatment are the main components of RBSK program.
Under this program, the Punjab Government provides free treatment of 31 different diseases to children aged 0 to 18 years in the state. Therefore, as per the tour program, the health of children should be thoroughly checked in every school and Anganwadi center and it should be ensured that every needy child is provided government health facilities.
Dr. Jain directed the staff to prepare a monthly micro plan and said that the tour program should be done as per the fixed plan and if there is any change, the higher officials should be informed on time. He expressed satisfaction while reading the progress report of the staff and also said that the monthly targets should be achieved with full hard work and dedication. He said that under this program, mobile health teams should ensure treatment of sick children within the stipulated time.
The Civil Surgeon also said that basic information should be given to teachers about eye examination of children so that if needed, teachers can also identify the children and then after complete examination by the mobile teams of the health department, the health problems of the children can be resolved.
He also directed to do maximum awareness activities about the health facilities provided under RBSK. District Vaccination Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, District RBSK Coordinator Vivek Kumar Sharma and other officers were present in the meeting.
