Hoshiarpur- Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh today visited the new site proposed for the fire brigade station located in the market near the Cooperative Bank in the local city and said that the fire brigade station is being shifted to an open space near Gaushala outside the city.

While visiting the new site of the fire brigade station near Bhangi Chowk along with Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and other officials and taking information regarding the construction of the station, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the necessary process for shifting the fire brigade station to the new site should be implemented soon. He said that the Punjab Government has released Rs 2.50 crore to the Municipal Corporation for the construction of the fire brigade station at the new site.
Looking at the proposed plan of the new fire brigade station, the Local Bodies Minister said that along with the construction as per the demand of modern times, necessary arrangements should be ensured from every aspect at the station. He said that keeping in view the difficulty in removing vehicles from the old station located in the market inside the city during emergencies, the Punjab Government has approved the construction of the fire station at a new location and has also released the required funds.
The officials told the Cabinet Minister that the tender process for construction at the new location is underway and it will be completed in the next few days and the construction work will be started. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that the fire brigade station to be built in an area of ??more than 2 Kanals will have adequate arrangements of vehicles etc. to control the situation during emergencies.
