
Launch and discussion of the poetry collection 'Sirnawan' by the Language Department
Hoshiarpur- Under the able guidance of the Punjab Government and Director Language Department Punjab Mr. Jaswant Singh Zafar and District Language Officer Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, the launch and discussion ceremony of Surjit Mann's poetry collection 'Sirnawan' was organized at the District Language Office Hoshiarpur. In which Shiromani Sahityakar Baljinder Mann of the Language Department and Principal Harvinder Kaur specially participated.

In which Shiromani Sahityakar Baljinder Mann of the Language Department and Principal Harvinder Kaur specially participated.
Dr. Jaswant Rai, Research Officer Hoshiarpur welcomed the guests. After the book launch, Dr. Rai started the discussion on the book and said that Surjit Mannhani has returned to poetry from the field of short stories. His poems and songs are full of Punjabi culture, social concerns, sensitivity towards polluted environment and the incident of land grabbing by Punjabis who went abroad.
This book is full of many topics like village memories, Rakhi, dowry system, brother-sister attachment etc. Talking about the book, Baljinder Mann, editor of Nikkiya Karumbalan, said that Surjit Manhani is engaged in the study and creation of literature day and night. The poems written by him are an address to the concerns of the times.
In his poems, deep thoughts about education, society, religion, politics, economy and generation gap can be read. I congratulate Surjit Manhani for the poems written by keeping a finger on the pulse of the times. Later, poet Manhani shared his thoughts about his creative process with the readers.
At this time, the Language Department honored poet Surjit Manhani by giving a set of books and medals to the personalities sitting in the presidium. Principal Harvinder Kaur gave the vote of thanks.
At this time Gurmeet Singh America, Sushma Kumari, Lovepreet, Lal Singh, Amolpreet, Nirmal Singh, Satvint Singh, Kulwinder Kaur, Rajni Sharma, Amarjit Yadav, Gurpreet Singh, Tilak Raj, Kuldeep Singh, Upinderjit Kaur, Meenakshi, Rajveer Kaur, Anjali, Mandeep Kaur and Pushpa Rani were present.
