Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, April 16: Senior health officials of the district visited various government institutions of the district this morning and took stock of the health services being provided to the people and gave necessary instructions. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that from April 16, the opening and closing time of government health institutions has been changed.
She said that the work of making prescriptions for patients in all health institutions, especially Aam Aadmi Clinics, started at 7.30 am and the health institutions opened at 8 am. It is worth mentioning that on the instructions of the Punjab Government, registration counters are being opened half an hour earlier, so that there are no queues of patients to get prescriptions. Dr. Jain said that the officials went to the registration counters and OPD rooms and inspected them. Doctors and other staff had reached on time in all the health institutions.
Along with this, the health officials enquired about the availability of essential medicines in the hospitals and instructed that doctors should not write any such medicine on the patient's prescription which is available at private medical shops. All medicines should be available only at the hospital pharmacy.
If for some reason the medicine is available at a private shop, then it is the responsibility of the in-charge of the institution to make the medicine available to the patient. Dr. Jain said that providing quality health facilities to the patients coming to government health institutions is his first duty.
He said that the inspection work by the officials will continue in the same way to improve the functioning of health institutions. He also appealed to the people to fully cooperate with the health workers so that they keep getting good health facilities without any problem.
