A division bench of Justices Pratiba M Singh and Rajnish Kumar Gupta issued notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and sought its response. The matter has been listed for hearing on March 18.
Senior advocate N Hariharan appeared for MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh and argued that he is seeking permission to attend the ongoing Parliament sessions. Earlier, Rashid was granted two days of custodial parole to attend the Parliament session in February 2025. The NIA's special public prosecutor urged the court to issue notice and give him some time to file a reply. The bench rejected the arguments and said that what is the point of hearing the petition if the session is over.
