
District-Level Training on iRAD Conducted in SAS Nagar
SAS Nagar, March 12, 2025: As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Smt. Komal Mittal and Assistant Commissioner (General), Smt. Ankita Kansal, a District-Level Training Session on the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) Portal was successfully conducted in DC Office SAS Nagar.
SAS Nagar, March 12, 2025: As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Smt. Komal Mittal and Assistant Commissioner (General), Smt. Ankita Kansal, a District-Level Training Session on the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) Portal was successfully conducted in DC Office SAS Nagar.
The iRAD project, an initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), supported by the World Bank, aims to enhance road safety through digitized and standardized accident data collection.
The training was conducted in the presence of Smt. Priyanka (District Informatics Officer/Assitant, NIC SAS Nagar) and was delivered by Sh. Iqbal (District Rollout Manager, SAS Nagar). Officials from key stakeholder departments participated in the session including Health Department, Transport Department (RTO/MVI), Punjab Mandi Board (PMB) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The session provided hands-on training on the iRAD portal, covering data entry, report submission workflows, and inter-departmental coordination among Police, Transport, Health, and Road Owning Agencies. A live demonstration of the Punjab Mandi Board and NHAI logins was conducted, along with a step-by-step guide for Transport and Health Department officials on accident report submission and medical data updates.
During the doubt-clearing session, Sh. Baljit (District Rollout Manager, Ropar) assisted Sh. Iqbal (District Rollout Manager, SAS Nagar) in addressing participants’ queries, ensuring a smooth understanding of the platform’s functionalities. The training for the Police Department will be conducted separately.
