It is necessary to focus on early identification of NCDs- Dr. Gurinderjit Singh

Nawanshahr- As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh, Medical Officers and Clinical Assistants of Ayushman Arogya Kendra were given training under NCD at the Civil Surgeon Office under the leadership of District Vaccination Officer Dr. Mandeep Kamal. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh said that the Punjab Government is making great efforts for the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

Nawanshahr- As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh, Medical Officers and Clinical Assistants of Ayushman Arogya Kendra were given training under NCD at the Civil Surgeon Office under the leadership of District Vaccination Officer Dr. Mandeep Kamal. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh said that the Punjab Government is making great efforts for the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
He said that among the initiatives started in this regard, Community Based Assessment Checklist (C-VAC) is an online form, which helps in identifying those who are at risk of non-communicable diseases. He said that this form is used by clinical assistants, community health officers and ASHA workers.
He directed the Medical Officers and Clinical Assistants of Ayushman Arogya Kendra to give their due cooperation for the successful implementation of the nationwide screening campaign to deal with non-communicable diseases. He said that the screening would be done by trained health workers including ASHA, ANM, MPHW and CHO at Primary Health Centres, Aam Aadmi Clinics, Ayushman Arogya Kendras, Community Health Centres, District Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals in rural and urban areas.
He said that the campaign has been launched on the lines of the nationwide launch of screening programme for persons aged 30 years and above. The campaign focuses on early identification of common NCDs through population screening at primary health facilities. Dr Gurinderjit Singh said that we should not fear non-communicable diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, heart attack and kidney diseases, rather we should adopt a healthy lifestyle and take prompt treatment measures to prevent them.
He said that non-communicable diseases are generally long-term diseases which take time to heal. On the occasion, District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Gurpreet Singh elaborated on the health schemes of Punjab Government for prevention of non-communicable diseases.
He gave detailed information about filling the online C-VAC form to the medical officers and clinical assistants of Ayushman Arogya Kendra. On this occasion, District Group Education and Information Officer Daljit Singh, Deputy Group Education and Information Officer Tarsem Lal and health officers and employees were present.
