SAS Nagar Police Conducts a Special Checking of Vehicles on Interstate and UT Borders in District

SAS Nagar, March 07, 2025: Going a step further to curb the drug trafficking in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District under the ongoing War on Drugs Campaign, District Police launched a special checking on all Interstate borders of the district bordering to Himachal Pardesh, Haryana and UT Chandigarh by laying various Nakas on Friday.

SAS Nagar, March 07, 2025: Going a step further to curb the drug trafficking in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District under the ongoing War on Drugs Campaign, District Police launched a special checking on all Interstate borders of the district bordering to Himachal Pardesh, Haryana and UT Chandigarh by laying various Nakas on Friday.
       Divulging the details, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Deepak Pareek while inspecting the Police Naka laid at UT Border near Jagatpura,  said that as per the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and directions of Director General of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, District Police beefed up security at interstate borders of the district and conducted thorough checking of the vehicles entering District. The operation Seal, continued till 1:00 PM, he added.
        He said that as a part of War on Drugs Campaign, Operation CASO and Seal are being carried out side by side. Beisdes, cracking down heavily on drug traffickers, search opeartions of Suspicious persons, checking of medical shops are also being conducted to rule out the supply and sale of drugs in the district. Similarly, campaign SAMPARK is also going to make a rapport with the residents to sensitise them about the drugs menace and criminals.
      The SSP Mr Pareek while apprising of the last years FIRs lodged in the district under NDPS act, said that about 350 cases have been registered wherein 450 drug traffickers were arrested. He said that the Police is very clear in its crusade against the menace of drugs and no body will be spared of found to play havoc with the future and lives of youth and innocent residents by the way of supplying Drugs.
       He said that Punjab has become the first state having the huge figure of seizure of properties procured or constructed with drug money. This figure has risen to Rs 700 crore, he added. He said that apart from attacment of property, demolition drive has also been in place in the state to convey a stern warning to the drug smugglers.
