Maidi Mela: Devotees will not be allowed to face any kind of trouble - Deputy Commissioner

Hoshiarpur- Senior journalist Daljit Ajanoha had a special conversation with Deputy Commissioner Madam Ashika Jain regarding the arrangements for Maidi Mela, in which he told that the devotees of Hoshiarpur going to Maidi Mela in Himachal Pradesh will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. The district administration is ensuring special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.

Hoshiarpur- Senior journalist Daljit Ajanoha had a special conversation with Deputy Commissioner Madam Ashika Jain regarding the arrangements for Maidi Mela, in which he told that the devotees of Hoshiarpur going to Maidi Mela in Himachal Pradesh will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. The district administration is ensuring special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.
He informed that Dera Baba Badbhaag Singh Holi Mela has started today in Maidi village of Amb tehsil of Una district of Himachal Pradesh, which will continue till March 17. A large number of devotees from Punjab come to this fair, in view of which the Hoshiarpur district administration is making proper arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a large number of devotees come to the fair, so special attention is being paid to traffic management. He directed the police department to keep their teams active 24 hours a day to maintain smooth traffic on all the routes leading to Una, so that the devotees do not face any kind of trouble. He appealed to the devotees not to travel in tractor-trolley, truck, canter and other heavy vehicles, as such vehicles can cause accidents.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he has instructed the Regional Transport Officer to strictly check heavy vehicles and take action against overloaded vehicles. He said that devotees should not use such vehicles to avoid any kind of inconvenience.
He said that it would be mandatory to take permission from the concerned SDM for setting up langar and using loudspeakers. Langar organizers were instructed to keep the langar site away from the main road, so that there is no hindrance in traffic. He also appealed not to use single-use plastic for langar.
He said that necessary guidelines have been issued to the Municipal Corporation, Public Health Department, Pollution Control Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Public Works Department, Electricity Corporation and Road Department. Also, the district police has been instructed to prepare a special route plan for the devotees, so that the devotees do not face any traffic related problems.
