Hoshiarpur 26 February- A special meeting of the state unit and district unit presidents of Unaided Teachers Front Punjab was held today, in which the next strategy was discussed on the continuous ignoring of the union's struggle and legitimate demands by the government. It was discussed in the union meeting that during the continuous struggle, the union has given demand letters to many MLAs, has held protest rallies, demonstrations and several rounds of meetings have been held with the government.
In which several rounds of meetings have been held with Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains and the Chief Minister's sub-committee which includes AAP President Mr. Aman Arora, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Finance Minister Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema. But still the main demand of the union is to make the teachers serving in aided schools permanent as per the 70:30 policy, which has not been implemented yet and the unaided teachers, troubled by the government's evasive policy, are forced to live on a very low salary.
Frustrated by this, these teachers announced to hold a Maha Dharna Rally in front of the Chief Minister's residence on Sunday, March 2, to get their legitimate demands fulfilled. In which teachers of Unaided Teachers Front Punjab from all over Punjab will participate in large numbers and will hold a protest on a large scale to expose the crooked policies of the government.
The representatives of the union said that in the meetings held so far, time is being wasted by making false promises every time. If even then the demands of the union are not met, then a permanent dharna will be held in front of the Chief Minister's residence and this will continue till our demands are met.
On this occasion, President of Unaided Teachers Union Nirbhay Singh Jahangir, Vice President Sukhchain Singh Johal, Kuljit Singh Sidhu, Madam Jasvir Kaur, Harmolak Kaur, Prabhjot Kaur, Balwinder Singh, Ravinder Bhardwaj, Shamshad Ali, Bhupinder Singh, Karanjit Singh, Talwinder Singh, Jatinder Sethi and members from various districts gathered.
