‘What kind of common man is this, he is wasting Punjab’s money’; Manjinder Sirsa questions Kejriwal’s Punjab visit

New Delhi- Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday questioned the extensive security and arrangements during AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s Punjab visit and criticised the alleged misuse of public funds. “There are cars worth more than Rs 2 crore, fire brigade, ambulance and more than 100 commandos in his (Arvind Kejriwal’s) convoy for Vipassana. What kind of common man is he? Arvind Kejriwal is wasting Punjab’s money,” he said. Sirsa said his aim is not ‘Vipassana’ but to fulfil his dream of becoming the Chief Minister. The people of Ludhiana will never let Sanjeev Arora (candidate from Ludhiana West) win.

Kejriwal arrived at a guesthouse in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on Tuesday amidst tight security. His visit comes ahead of the upcoming by-elections, during which AAP is focusing on strengthening its presence in the state. It is worth noting that AAP's Sanjeev Arora will contest the Ludhiana West by-election, a seat that fell vacant after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi last month.
Notably, Arora's nomination has sparked speculation about Arvind Kejriwal's possible entry into the Rajya Sabha. Earlier on Monday, AAP MP Sanjeev Arora, however, fueled speculation about the party's plans, especially Arvind Kejriwal's possible move to the Rajya Sabha.
According to Arora, seven AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha from Punjab are ready to vacate their seats for Kejriwal if needed. However, Arora insisted that Kejriwal has not shown any interest in joining the Rajya Sabha as of now.
