Police stopped the farmers' tractor march from going to Chandigarh at Garhi Kanungo.

In that march, farmers from other villages also joined with their tractors and left for Chandigarh with a big convoy, but the police administration of Nawanshahr stopped this convoy at village Garhi Kanungo (Balachaur).

Kirti Kisan Union leaders Surinder Singh Bains District President, Bhupinder Singh Waraich State Committee Member, Tarsem Singh Bains District Secretary, Paramjit Singh Shahabpur, Surinder Singh Meharampur etc. said that during the meeting of farmer leaders with the Punjab government, consensus was reached on eight demands, but Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann got ready to leave the meeting saying that he had an appointment.
That is why the farmer leaders said that the remaining demands should also be considered. Only then will the farmers be able to take action. Bhagwant Singh Mann suddenly got angry and asked what is the program for March 5. Then the farmer leaders said that the program proposed by the United Kisan Morcha for the struggle will be a tractor march and a permanent protest will be held in Chandigarh. On this, S. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that I will see how you will be able to reach Chandigarh.
Therefore, the government issued instructions to the police administration and raided the houses of farmer leaders. Many farmer leaders were taken into custody and some farmer leaders were placed under house arrest. This police action has been condemned from all sides. The Punjab government has come under target.
