Hoshiarpur / Garhshankar - The annual prize distribution ceremony of DAV Senior Secondary School Hoshiarpur, which has been spreading the light of education in the society for the past 125 years, was held in the school yard.
On this occasion, former Union Minister of State and former Chairman National Scheduled Caste Commission Vijay Sampla attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Dr. Anup Kumar, Chairman of DAV College Management Committee. The program organized on the theme 'Meri Mitti-Mera Desh' was started by the lighting of candles by the guests. Action songs based on patriotism and dance performances by children were well appreciated. An India decorated with many colors, a great India, Mera Ranga Basanti Chola and Teri Mitti Mein Mil Jawan, where the feeling of patriotism started to rise in the minds of the audience, there was much laughter from the dreams of the showman state.
During the presentation of Punjabi folk dance Gidhe and Bhangra, the feet of the audience started dancing and the entire pandal rose to the beat of the drum. In his address, the chief guest Vijay Sampala appreciated the contribution of DAV institutions in the expansion of education in the society and emphasized on value based education and declared it necessary to include values in education. DAV CMC President Dr Anup Kumar congratulated everyone for the successful event and reiterated his commitment to the spread of education in the society and overall development of students. On this occasion, in the message sent by DAV CMC Secretary Principal DL Anand, while congratulating everyone, DAV CMC assured to provide all possible support for the welfare of the students and the development of the school.
Earlier, the principal of the school Rajesh Kumar welcomed the guests and read the annual report of the school. Meanwhile, prizes were distributed to the first three position students in various classes and prizes were also given to students who performed well in sports and other co-curricular activities. The school felicitated prominent personalities who contributed to the welfare of the students. Meenakshi Menon performed the stage management well. On this occasion, officers and members of DAV College Managing Committee, members of DAV College Hoshiarpur Society, former teachers and students of the school and a large number of parents of students were present.
