
Punjab Mandi Board Employees and Pensioners Joint Front holds gate rally
S.A.S. Nagar, February 28- Today, Punjab Mandi Board Employees and Pensioners Joint Front held a gate rally at Punjab Mandi Board Head Office, Sector-65 A, SHS Nagar to press their demands. In which Punjab Mandi Board Employees Union, Punjab Mandi Board Retired Employees Welfare Association, Punjab Mandi Board Workers Union (Wing) Contract Outsource Staff Union and Punjab Mandi Board Employees and Pensioners also participated in this rally.

In which Punjab Mandi Board Employees Union, Punjab Mandi Board Retired Employees Welfare Association, Punjab Mandi Board Workers Union (Wing) Contract Outsource Staff Union and Punjab Mandi Board Employees and Pensioners also participated in this rally.
On this occasion, the joint front put forward its demands for the benefit of the board. The speakers said that due to the government reducing the market fee and the board taking a loan of Rs. 1800 crore for road repair, the board's income has already suffered a huge loss. Due to which the board is facing difficulties in meeting its committed expenses such as salary, pension and maintenance expenses. They demanded that the board should not take any kind of loan.
He said that under the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme, the beneficiaries are reimbursed for the treatment provided by them to the concerned hospital in the ratio of 60:40, i.e. 60 percent payment is to be made by the Central Government and 40 percent by the Punjab Government. He said that till the year 2024, the Mandi Board has paid about Rs. 202 crore and in the year 2025, Rs. 155 crore has been paid so far. Therefore, until the data is recovered, no amount should be transferred under the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme.
On this occasion, it was demanded that the financial benefits due to the employees of the Punjab Mandi Board who retire after serving their services from the board should be given within a week of retirement. It was also demanded that houses should not be allotted to employees of other departments other than the employees of the board in the residential colonies of the Punjab Mandi Board.
