Una, February 28- Govind Sagar Lake located in Una district of Himachal Pradesh is soon going to become the new center of exciting water sports activities. With the aim of promoting adventure sports and tourism, the district administration has completed the tender process to start boating, kayaking, jet ski and other water sports activities in the lake. In the competitive bidding process, Mayfield Adventures has secured the operating contract by bidding the highest amount of Rs 80 lakh 500.
Tourism and employment will get a boost
Kutlahar MLA Vivek Sharma said that it is the priority of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to give a new dimension to tourism by promoting adventure sports activities in the state and create self-employment opportunities for the youth. He said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, this is an important step towards developing water sports in the Kutlahar area. This will not only promote local tourism but will also open new doors of employment for the youth of the area.
Selection done in transparent tender process
The committee constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar for water sports operation completed the tender process in a transparent manner. This committee included SDM Bangana Sonu Goyal, Credit Planning Officer Sanjay Sankhyan, SDO (RDD) Bangana, Tehsildar Bangana and Assistant Tourism Development Officer Hamirpur. Various agencies participated in this tender, out of which Mayfield Adventures got the contract by placing the highest bid.
Now that the contract process has been completed, exciting water sports activities will be started in Govind Sagar Lake in the coming days. This will boost adventure tourism in the state as well as strengthen the local economy.
