
International Mother Language Day celebrated at Sikh National College Banga
Nawanshahr/Banga 27 February- Punjabi Department of Sikh National College Banga celebrated International Mother Language Day under the leadership of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder in collaboration with Punjabi Sahitya Sabha (students). On this occasion, Dr. Indurti, Prof. Abid Waqar, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Dr. Sunidhi Miglani, Dr. Gurvinder Singh were specially present.
Nawanshahr/Banga 27 February- Punjabi Department of Sikh National College Banga celebrated International Mother Language Day under the leadership of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder in collaboration with Punjabi Sahitya Sabha (students). On this occasion, Dr. Indurti, Prof. Abid Waqar, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, Dr. Sunidhi Miglani, Dr. Gurvinder Singh were specially present.
On this occasion, the students presented captivating speeches, poems and songs dedicated to the Punjabi mother tongue. Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, while addressing the students, said that intellectual development of man is not possible without mother tongue, therefore no human being should ignore the mother tongue. Punjabi mother tongue is as important as the mother who gives birth in life.
During the program, a poster and calligraphy exhibition dedicated to the Punjabi mother tongue was also organized by the students, which attracted a lot of attention and the students also took a pledge to promote and propagate the Punjabi language. Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur, Head of the Punjabi Department, thanked them and said that we will always keep the flag of upliftment of our mother tongue Punjabi high, which has a unique history of its existence.
The students who gave presentations and organised exhibitions during the programme included Komal, Tajinder, Lachmi, Monika, Tania Harpreet Kaur, Erica etc. Sahota, Harman, Heena, Sukhmanvir Singh, Kavya, Taranpreet, Manisha, Rahul, Amardeep Kaur, Suhani, Navjot and Inderpreet. Prof. Okar Sidhu, Prof. Manraj Kaur were specially honoured. The stage was managed by Prof. Tajinder Singh.
On this occasion, Prof. Pooja, Prof. Harpal Kaur, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, office bearers of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Gurpreet Singh, Simran, Aasa Singh and the audience who love their mother tongue Punjabi were present.
